“Christ caring for people through people”
What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is a balanced practical system of caregiving through the local church.  Stephen Ministry helps equip God’s people to care for people who are going through a difficult time.

What Do Stephen Minister’s Do?

Stephen Ministers are caregivers who provide support and love through one-on-one relationships for those who are hurting.  A Stephen Minister is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside someone who is struggling with a life crisis.  Stephen Ministers will usually meet with their care receiver on a weekly basis.

What is the Process for Care?

Stephen Ministry is available for anyone who is facing overwhelming needs for care – hospitalized, grieving, suffering loneliness or discouragement, divorced or separation, unemployment, accidents and the list goes on and on.  During these times people can receive care by being referred by a pastor or calling the church office.  An appointment will be arranged with a Stephen Minister who will then match the person in need with a Stephen Minister.  They will meet weekly as long as there is a need.

Stephen Ministry Training

Stephen Ministers are lay Christians who are selected, trained and supervised to provide Christian care to others who are in need.  They receive 50 hours of initial training and while they provide care, receive continuing education to strengthen their caregiving skills.
