Student Camps

IThe vision for the Pearce Student Ministries is to help guide students from 7th grade through college graduation.  This vision is still in progress, but it is our desire to develop critical thinking, followers of Christ, who will go out into the world and love others as Christ has loved them.  We value people over program, however, the programs explained below help to facilitate the fostering of life changing relationships.  Our desire is to offer programs that are fun, funny, challenging, and exciting, but most of all programs that will help us to develop a community in which students can come and belong before having to subscribe to a certain belief or creed.

Wednesday night programs.
Junior Teens  - 6:30-8pm, Designed specifically for 7-8th graders, this program involves active games and activities, food, and a mix of inspirational messages and though provoking conversations.

Senior Teens – 6:30-8pm, Designed for 9-12th grade students, this program places a high value on giving students the opportunity to come and be a part of a church group without being judged, condemned or hassled.  Students from all walks of life are welcome to come and enjoy the built in hang-out time, planned activities, and discussions.  Whether ping-pong, foosball, basketball or coffee is your thing, there is a place for you here.

Tuesday Morning Breakfasts
Guys – 6:30-7:15am.  Parents drop your 9-12grade sons off at the North Chili Family Restaurant (Girls meet at Tim Horton’s) on your way to work, and after breakfast we will take them to school.  With the craziness of teenager’s schedules today, we have found it helpful to meet in the morning once a week.  This gives students the opportunity to stay connected to community without needing to give up an additional evening.

Sunday Morning Fellowship
From 9:15-10:15am our 7-12 grade teens meet for about 15 minutes of singing and prayer, followed by a 20minutes talk from numerous speakers, ranging from Roberts Wesleyan professors, to World Missionaries.  The morning fellowship closes with small groups built around age. (7-8 grade girls, 7-8th boys, 9-10 girls, 9-10 boys, Juniors boys and girls combined, Seniors boys and girls combined.)  Sunday morning tends to be a bit more in depth, but all are welcome.

Weekly Small Groups
Small groups are available for anyone interested in getting into scripture and the challenges of life and leadership.  Small groups are schedule and designed by the groups themselves and so vary in time and subject matter.

Sunday Morning College Fellowship
Currently we offer a Sunday School class for students and young adults, which is being taught by professor Stewart of RWC, and Mary Fleming.  Our vision is to grow this, dividing out college students and young adults, as well as to begin to offer some additional programming for the local college students.

Algonquin Spiritual Disciplines Canoe Trip
A weeklong trip spent canoeing in the wilderness of Ontario.  This trip is structured to create small community groups that can freely explore the soul.  As we set out into God’s beautiful creation we harness the same spirit of exploration to look at who we are, who God thinks we are, and how can we draw nearer to him.  The trip takes place from the first Sunday of August until the following Saturday each year.  This year the cost is $425.

Local and International Missions Trips

We believe it is crucial to the spiritual growth of students to learn to serve others.  Locally we take part in Flower City Work Camp – an intercity organization in Rochester that brings students together to repair homes for the less fortunate.  Internationally we have a partnership with the Free Methodist Church in Buenos Aires Argentina.  Historically our students have embarked on international missions once every two or three years
