Welcome to the Preschool Ministry
of Pearce Church (ages 0-3)
|
|
Your children are important to us, and we strive to make this a place where children are celebrated! We want children who visit Pearce, or who see this as their church home, to know God's love for them through us. We highly value the responsibility to come alongside families in the early life training of their children, and in the support of the family.
The Nursery is a place where your child will find love and acceptance. Children here will learn about God's love, and the love of their church family. Their physical needs will be met while you attend worship or meet with your small group on Sunday morning. If you are leading or attending a ministry on Wednesday evening during the school year, we have childcare for children ages 0-3. Occasionally we provide Early Childhood Care during special church events.
We consider caring for your child a privilege and a God-given responsibility. When you have settled into Pearce as your church home, we welcome you to become a volunteer. It takes many hands and hearts, and lots of joy to make this important care giving happen.
We look forward to a growing relationship with your family.

| What Your Child Will Be Learning |
|
All children will be in small age-centered groups
in which their leader will strive to build great and lasting
relationships. Children will learn songs and action rhymes along
with Bible stories and Scripture verses. Our hope is that this
will help you "bring up your child in the way he should
go (sic)." |
| Tips For Parents |
| 1. |
Please
mark all child's belongings (bottles, pacifiers, and anything
else that may be taken out of the diaper bag while in our care).
If you bring items from home, please label them with first and
last names. Permanent marker is best. |
| 2. |
Complete a Children's
Ministry Registration form and return to the Nursery Coordinator. |
| 3. |
If you have a
newborn, fussy child, or one new to our Nursery, please take
a pager so that we can reach you easily. Children normally get
calm soon after parents have gone. It is our policy to page parents
if we are unable to soothe children after caring for them 10
minutes. |
| 4. |
All
children in the Nursery Wing may only be signed in and out by
adults. Using the provided ID bracelet helps our staff make sure
that the children are being "claimed" by the correct
individuals. The ID must be used to pick up the child. Drivers
License identification will be used in the event of an emergency
when the ID is not presented. |
| For Your Child's Safety |
|
Plastic
gloves are used in changing all diapers. |
|
Changing
area is cleaned and disinfected after every diaper change and
following every service. |
|
Child
is given back only to the person who signed in him/her unless
specific instructions were written on the sign in form. |
|
Toys
are washed weekly. If a toy has been put in a child's mouth it
is removed from the play area and washed before it is returned. |
|
Sheets
are changed after each use. |
|
Our
classrooms have windows so that parents and others can observe
what is happening in the classroom. |
|
Each
classroom has an emergency phone. |
|
Children will not be taken out of the Nursery Wing
by Nursery workers unless there is a declared emergency. Then
we will take all children to the grassy area on the far side
of the front driveway. We ask you not to claim your child until
all children have been accounted for and you have signed that
you've taken your child. |
