About Stephen Ministers
Stephen Ministers are caregivers who provide support and love through one-on-one relationships with those who are hurting.
Stephen Ministers are trained to listen, care, encourage, pray and walk alongside someone struggling with a life crisis. Stephen Ministers typically meet with their care receivers for one hour on a weekly basis.
Stephen Ministers are lay Christians who are selected, trained and supervised to provide care to people who are in need. Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of initial training and while they provide care, they receive continuing education to strengthen their caregiving skills.
Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.
I Thessalonians 5:11
Stephen Ministers provide more one-on-one support than pastors could ever provide alone.
Pearce Stephen Ministers continue to provide care and support for people with a wide range of needs. During 2013, the Pearce Stephen Ministers will meet twice a month to share, support, and encourage one another in peer supervision groups.
