November 3, 2010

The fall always seems to be an incredibly busy and fast pace time of year. I am in disbelief and perhaps even denial that we are actually in the first week of November. It seems like just yesterday that I was anticipating the start of the Bill's season. Now I cannot wait for the NFL draft in March.

But before we move to the Bill's taking the first pick in the draft, I want to remember October. What a fantastic month we had. Our junior high teens have officially outgrown their room. They are averaging over 30 each week, and have as many girls (loud girls no less) as guys. Our senior teens enjoyed a gorgeous weekend at Cattaraugus Christian camp. We focused the weekend on the leadership principals of Christ, and we concentrated on building and strengthening our relationships with one another. We ended the month with our annual hayride and bon-fire. What a wonderful night. Very warm for late October, millions of stars, and even more impressive were the things kids shared around the fire. Asked to share what Pearce Student ministry has meant to them this semester, one student responded saying "it has given me a safe place to just be myself, and they know how to party - in a Christian way." The joy for me, is that kids who don't otherwise have a connection to a church feel safe coming to Pearce, and that kids from all walks feel loved and accepted.

Looking forward to what God has in store for us in November.
