Jr. Teens on Parade
In our second year of doing a junior high overnight, the team is convinced more than ever of the necessity of this simple trip. Hours of dodge ball, sledding, and board games led to some great conversations that just don’t seem to happen on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings. It seems that getting teens out of their normal routine, and then just being with them and being willing to listen to them, is the key that leads to meaningful conversations. The Jr. Teens did a lot of laughing, a little bit of learning, and whole bunch of talking. Pearce is so blessed to have these thoughtful and considerate folks coming up through the ranks.
Talent on Loan to Romania
Last month, I wrote about the Variety/Talent show the teens held to raise funds for our upcoming missions trip to Romania. At the time photos were not available. It was a wonderful evening. If you missed it, but would still like to contribute to our efforts, you can give through the offering plate during worship services by simply indicating “Teen Missions” on the memo line. Thank you in advance for your prayer and financial support.
Time to Fly
Our Wednesday evening schedule runs from September until the end of April. We do this in order to give our leaders time to rest before the summer programs kick in, and to give the students the freedom to focus on exams, the prom, and spring sports. This year our final Wednesday night will be April 29th. We will be going to SkyZone at 155 Bellwood Drive in Greece. A van will be provided to transport some students to and from Pearce. However, if you are able to drop off and pick up your teen at Skyzone it is appreciated, as van space will be limited. All students must have a signed waiver on file with SkyZone. You can do this by going to www.skyzone.com/rochester . The cost for the evening is $14 plus $2 for the special socks.
