As you can see in the pictures above, Kids’ Worship is moving along! During Kids’ Worship, the kids are released from the sermon portion of our 10:30 Sunday service to have their own lesson in Parmerter Chapel. During Kids’ Worship we also take time to pray. (Notice one picture has a list of prayer requests we prayed for this past week.) The kids are eager to share what is on their hearts to be prayed for. Currently, our lessons are working through the stories of Genesis. This past Sunday, I taught the kids how to make a snake out of dish soap. I have already heard some went home to experiment! My hope for this teaching time is to engage the kids in the stories of the Bible and to teach them, in a practical way, what it means to pray for one another.
On December 20, the kids of Pearce will be participating in our inter-generational worship service by singing with the adult choir. Over the next couple of months, Mary Price, who faithfully sings with preschool-2nd grade Sunday School classes each week, will also lead the first part of Kids’ Worship to practice the Christmas songs they will be singing on that special day.
Because Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner, it is a great time in the church calendar to be inviting neighbors and friends to come and visit us. There are opportunities for the whole family to come, fellowship, and learn. In the recent words of one little boy in my kids’ program to his mom, “Mom, we had fun and learned about God, too!”
