December is here!
I want to highlight our Family Story Hour on Wednesday, December 16, from 6:30-8pm in Parmerter Chapel. This is a fun night for families to be together! Pastor Wally has the stories picked out already. After the stories are read, we’ll move to the Family Life Center for a cookie and toy reception in the Family Life Center. Each child (through 6th grade) who attends will receive a wooden toy from the Pearce Toy Makers. I am looking for volunteers to bring in cookies for this event. If you are able to do so, please email or call me and let me know how many cookies you plan to bring.
The Advent season is a special time of the year.
However, it can be a challenge to keep our focus on Jesus. We seem to get wrapped up (no pun intended!) in the giving, receiving, parties, special dinners, etc. For others, it is a painful and lonely time of the year. One of my devotional readings last week was titled, “Have you lost Jesus in the busyness of Christmas?” One way to keep from losing Jesus is to intentionally spend time with Him. I would encourage you to check out the three books Pastor Wally has recommended for Pearce reads this Advent season. Two of the books are great for families to read together; and one is a book you might want to read alone during your personal devotional time. If you find this time of year painful or lonely, I invite you to come and fellowship with our Pearce families on December 16, during the Family Story Hour. There is peace in watching Jesus work through our kids.
