Just a Few Things
This week’s Dangling will be short, as Mary and I just returned from our trip to participate in a pastors and spouses retreat for clergy from Indiana and West Virginia. I’m still sorting through my email and unpacking my bags.
I’d like to briefly share a few items with you today:
First, thanks for your prayers for Mary and me as we traveled and ministered in Indiana. We put 1,400 miles on our car, so we were on the move. It was wonderful to have time together with about 70 pastors and spouses in the beautiful little town of Nashville, Indiana. Yes, I know! In my last Dangling, I said the retreat was in Clay City. I was wrong! (Not the first time in my life and, surely, not the last!)
Second, Mary and I enjoyed briefly spending time with some family during our travels. On Sunday morning we worshiped with my niece Amanda and her finance, Gene, in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are getting married in May; and, as I’m officiating at their wedding, we had time to talk about their special day over dinner after church. On Wednesday afternoon, we stopped by Grove City College to have lunch with our niece and nephew, Ryan and Devon, both students at the college. Both visits reminded me of how precious loved ones are to us! (The photo above is of Mary with Ryan on the campus.)
Third, I’m looking forward to being at Pearce this weekend and observing the start of Holy Week with you. I hope you are anticipating worship with excitement and joy!
Fourth, I am grateful for your partnership in the Gospel. Whenever I am with other pastors, and listen to the stories of both their joys and challenges, I come back with a deep appreciation and gratitude for this community of faith. Thank you for allowing Mary and me to serve in this place!
See you this weekend!
