Sometimes it’s good to pull away to the quiet place. It’s the example of Jesus. But life is lived “On the Way.” I’m glad we find Jesus in the quiet place, but I’m also glad that Jesus finds us “On the Way.” So many times, our fervent prayers are answered “On the Way” of obedience. It requires trusting faith to keep moving forward “On the Way” while we wait for God to show up and answer our heartfelt prayers.
This Sunday, October 1, we’re unpacking words of love and hope from Matthew 22. It’s a red-letter Jesus story we fondly refer to as The Great Commandment. Love God. Love our neighbor. Easy to read and even remember. At times though, a real challenge to live out as life keeps rolling on.
One of the ways we demonstrate our love for God is by our love for our neighbor. Ellen and I are excited that you have joined with us in our “Pray for One” initiative. As our eyes awaken, before our feet hit the floor, before we take our first step “On the Way,” we are already asking our God of unfailing love to show us one person that needs to know and see His love today. And as we launch into the adventure of the day, we keep listening to that still small voice to show us our opportunity to share His unfailing love.
I love this! God shows up as we’re living life “On the Way.” Enjoy this daily adventure as you sense God’s presence, as you share His unfailing love, as you see the difference it can make…even for one.
