24! And 14! According to Gates Chief of Police James Vanbrederode there were an all-time high of 24 deaths due to drug overdoses in September and another 14 in October across Monroe County! And these aren’t just in downtown Rochester. This happens in our backyard as well. A reminder of evil at work in our world.
And our hearts go out to the small rural community of Sutherland Springs, TX and the church where this latest tragedy occurred. Another senseless reminder of evil at work in our world.
We are heartbroken for the grieving families and communities, righteously furious at the presence of evil, and more committed than ever to live out our mission to be and make disciples that love God and neighbor!
We do this to change our world–one heart and one home at a time. Our vision is to look, live, and love like Jesus so that we might change our world. Our mission is to be and make disciples that love God and neighbor on the westside of Rochester and beyond, so that we might change our world. We are committed to the biblical core values to Reach, Teach, Mend, and Send in living out our Vision and Mission so that we might change our world. We begin each day with a simple “Pray for one” so that we might change our world.
“Father God of unfailing love, we pray that Your will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us strength to live out Your promise that where sin and evil increase, Your grace increases all the more. Use us to change our world as people of grace for times such as these. Amen.”
