God’s voice seems so clear to me now. His call is for us to look, live, and love like Jesus. How will we accomplish this? A commitment to be and make disciples that love God and neighbor. But we have to keep this simple, following the example of Jesus and the early church. So, we focus on three ministry invitations—Worship, Community (relationships), and Service. And we have four biblical core values that support all of this—Reach, Teach, Mend, and Send.
Too much to remember? Let’s keep our focus on God’s call to look, live, and love like Jesus. Every day, I strive to begin with a “Pray for one” opportunity to live this out. It fills me with a joyful and hopeful confident trusting faith for the challenges of each day.
I use youversion.com and follow a “Through the Bible in a year” reading plan. This morning, I read Hebrews 12:14-15: “Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.”
Today, God is inviting me/us to work at living in peace…with everyone. This means that our God of unfailing love wants us to look after one another so that no family member, friend, or neighbor entrusted to us will miss out on God’s grace.
On the way to look, live, and love like Jesus. This is a way of grace. God’s voice seems so clear. Thank you for sharing in this grace-filled adventure of life.
Father, we pray that no one entrusted to us will miss out on this grace found only in You. Fill our hearts to overflowing so that we might live in peace with everyone. May Jesus be seen in me/us today. Amen.
