VBS: Amped is coming to Pearce June 25-28! We’re going to have an extremely awesome week teaching kids about why God wants each of us to be overloaded with confidence. He wants us to live our lives fully alive because we can believe that what He says is true! John 10:10 says, “I have come so that they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.” Each day, kids will learn important truths such as, “live like you know God is with you,” “live like God has a plan for you,” and “live like people matter.” Kids will hear Bible stories about Joseph, Esther, Jesus, the Early Church, and Paul. And there will be plenty of fun, games, and, of course, snacks! If you want to be involved in this exciting week, keep reading to learn how you can!
Register your kids (currently in Preschool-5th grade) today! Find registration forms at the top of this page or at the VBS Kiosk at Pearce.
Everyone else (kids currently in 6th grade, teens, college students, and adults) is invited to join the fun and ministry of VBS! We are looking to fill many volunteer opportunities, including Small Group Leaders. Small Group Leaders get to be the primary disciple maker for a group of up to 10 kids. You’ll stay with the same group all week, encouraging spiritual growth, relationships, and discussion. Volunteer registration and screening forms are at the VBS Kiosk, along with volunteer job descriptions. Stop by the kiosk this Sunday to sign up or learn more. You can also contact Krys Merriam at email@example.com with any questions or interest.
This year’s decorating style is extreme sports and garage industrial. We’re hoping to borrow some items to use for that purpose. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Chain link fence (3-8 ft. sections)
- Corrugated metal panels (3-8 ft. sections)
- Hub caps
- License plates
- Roller blades
- Skate boards
- Knee/elbow pads
- Bike tires/rims
- Wood or metal crates/boxes
- Cement blocks or bricks
If you have items to donate, please contact Annette Merriam at 820-1796 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to label all items so they are returned to the correct owner. Items can be brought to the church any time between June 9-20, when the building is open. Items will be available to pick up on June 28, in the afternoon.
Supply Donation sign-ups continue this weekend at the VBS kiosk. Stop by to see what is needed and sign up for what you can bring. We also have a list of needs on Amazon. Flyers with instructions are at the kiosk.
If you want to be involved in VBS, but aren’t available that week, we have many office jobs to be done ahead of time that will help make this week meaningful and life-changing for our kids. Tasks include making copies of curriculum, stapling, and cutting. Krys Merriam would love to hear from you if you have some time to give! Email her at email@example.com to learn more.
We encourage our entire church family to be praying for VBS. Pray that our leaders will stay healthy. Pray that all of the details will come together. Pray for the kids in our church and community that will be coming to VBS, that they would know that God wants them to live their lives fully alive because they can believe that what He says is true!
And finally, everyone is invited to FX (Family Experience) on Thursday, June 28, at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. FX will let us all catch a glimpse of the fun and learning that happened during the week of VBS. All ages will leave that evening feeling fully alive!
