Parents, are you looking for a fun program for your kids this summer? You should check out Pearce 4 Kids Summer Day Camp. Camp is an 8-week summer program for kids entering Kindergarten this fall through children 12 years of age. Each week (July 2-August 24) includes a field trip and fun activities designed around that week’s theme, like Super Heroes & Princesses, Space Camp, and Crazy Carnival. Children going into Kindergarten and 1st Grade will enjoy activities in a separate hallway from older campers. Brochures with more information, including pricing and how to register, will be available at the Information Kiosk and at pearce4kids.org beginning February 19.
If you missed our Annual Celebration on Wednesday, copies of the Annual Report are available to pick up at the Information Kiosk in the atrium, or you can download it here: 2018 Annual Report
Two positions are open in our maintenance and custodial staff.
The first available position is a part-time cleaner, Monday-Friday (days may vary), from approximately 6-9pm. Weekend hours may also be needed, hours and need would vary. In general, this is an 8-15 hour/week position. Duties include cleaning and set-up/tear down of tables and chairs for ministry events and may also include snow shoveling or raking. This position is ideal for a high school or college student or a retiree.
The second available position is a full-time evening supervisor, to work with and oversee the evening and weekend cleaning crew. This is a staff position that would require some mechanical ability. Candidate must take ownership for set-up/tear down for events, schedule the staff, oversee all evening and weekend custodial staff, and be responsible to close and secure the building.
Interested persons should send their resume to Bob Antes at firstname.lastname@example.org. Call Bob at 585-594-9488 with questions.
We invite you to join us in our “Pray for One” initiative. As we awaken each morning, before our feet hit the floor, we are asking our God of unfailing love to show us one person that needs to know and see His love today. And as we launch into the adventure of the day, we keep listening to that still small voice to show us our opportunity to share His unfailing love. We look forward to hearing many stories of how the Lord is moving in our Pearce family.
Linked with Love is Pearce’s partnership with the Nzige Preschool: located on a hilltop in southeastern Rwanda, Africa. In Kinyarwanda, the language spoken in Nzige, “We are linked with love” is translated “Duhujwe n’urukundo.” This school helps more than 300 children, between the ages of 4-7, prepare for public school. Started a few years ago by the Free Methodist congregation in Nzige, the preschool is making a significant impact on families with young children.
Pearce families are asked to consider making a commitment to sponsor a child from the school. To date, more than 100 children in Nzige have been sponsored by families at Pearce, but there are still children waiting for sponsors. If you would like to join other families from Pearce and support one of these children in Nzige, you may contact the Pearce Church office at 594-9488 at any time and ask for more information. Those choosing to sponsor a child will commit to monthly financial support ($30 per month), regular prayer support, and occasional communication with the child to encourage them in their studies and in their walk with Christ.
Several mission teams have been sent from Pearce to Nzige since our Linked with Love partnership began in 2015. You can stay connected with all that’s happening on the Linked with Love facebook page: facebook.com/Linked with Love/Pearce FM Church.
Our partnership with the Nzige preschool in Rwanda was highlighted in the International Childcare Ministries October 2015 newsletter. You can find that article here: http://us7.campaign-archive1.com/
This partnership is the result of the work of Pearce’s Great Commission Leadership Team, a group committed to helping our congregation to be involved in Kingdom work, both at home and around the world.
