This is what sets Christianity apart from the other religions of the world. It’s not just Christmas and the birth of Jesus as God became man. It’s not just Good Friday as Jesus laid down His life for the sins of those He created.
What sets Christianity apart from the other religions of the world is the story of…God becoming man at Christmas, born into a cruel world as an innocent baby. It is the story of a God of unfailing love on a Cross—that Mercy Tree—laying down His life for the sins of those He created. And then on the third day raised from the grave and resurrected to new life.
Yet the story continues to this moment…the Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the grave lives in us! (Romans 8:11) The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is at work in us. (Ephesians 1:19-20) This is what sets Christianity apart from the other religions of the world!
Beware of “useless and fuzzy faith” that is as lifeless and aimless as a tumbleweed, nothing more than “smoke and mirrors.” We were created for more than this life. We were created for an enduring legacy. A legacy isn’t about whether our name is remembered as much as it is about touching someone in need in the name of Jesus.
Never underestimate the power of endless grace. Keep good going. How will you unleash the power of the resurrection in your life this week?
Love cares more about who’s hurting than who’s watching!
