Here at Pearce, we desire to see every family in our community grow to look, live, and love like Jesus. We want our church to be a place where families who do not know Jesus feel welcomed and are able to encounter the love and grace of God. This is why we do ministries like Vacation Bible School and why we are always seeking to discover new ways to use the many gifts and resources God has blessed us with, to reach others with the love of Jesus. So, it is with great excitement that we want to announce our new approach to VBS, Mega Kids Camp: Where Fun, Faith, and Family Collide. Here’s what it will look like:
It will all take place Monday, July 29-Friday, August 2, from 6:30pm-8:30pm, for age 4 (by December 1, 2019) through kids entering 6th grade in the fall (2019). Dinner for families will be available at 6:00 each night. When kids register, they will have the opportunity to pick from five awesome, engaging tracks: Basketball, Karate, Track, Science, and Music/Art. For the entirety of the week, kids will worship God, discover the good news of Jesus, and get to learn skills in their chosen track. Our littlest preschool kiddos will participate in Mega Kids Camp Jr., where they will discover sport skills perfect for them while also encountering the love of Jesus. Parents will also have the option to stay and participate in Parent Camp, where they will get to build relationships with other parents and get to discuss important issues facing their family. It truly is a week for the whole family—there is something for everyone!
To make this week possible, we need “all hands on deck!” There are so many ways to serve at Mega Kids Camp. If you love sports, science, music, or art, we have five tracks waiting for coaches. If you love spending time with kids, then we need people to lead huddles of about eight kids in discovering how much Jesus loves them. If you can smile and welcome people, we need greeters. If you like details and are organized, we need registration and behind-the-scenes help. If you can pray, we need you on our prayer team. If you can move tables and chairs, we need you on our set-up and tear-down teams. If you like parents, we need people to spend time getting to know parents and to build relationships with them. Whatever your gifts, wherever you like to serve, we need you on our team at Mega Kids Camp.
We are excited to see how God might use the many gifted people within our church to reach the families of our community through Mega Kids Camp.
